We take care of the human infrastructure of cycling. We want to help break down the barriers that stand between people and the choice to move by bike. We work on skills, access, awareness and inspiration, with a focus on reducing the gender gap in cycling mobility.

Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS)
The people who cultivate Terreno, every day.
President & Founder
She discovered cycling as a girl in Valle d’Itria and has ridden every day since her university years. Convinced it is a healthy, human way to live the city, she works to make cycling a free, safe choice open to everyone.
Vice-President & Networker
Firmly convinced that the bike drives change — and that we are what drives the bike — I write our monthly newsletter and social content, and look after our members and our network of local associations.
Secretary (Board)
I look after the paperwork, the administration and the budget. I try to be there for every one of our wonderful activities. I believe firmly in this project.
Cycling Activities Coordinator
A management engineer and IT consultant, my deep passion for sport led me to coordinate and run our cycling activities: I pair a structured approach with a dynamic, open-air world.
Communications & Outreach
I coordinate the communications team and I scout out new opportunities for the association to take up.
Advocacy, Project Development & Communication
I believe cycling improves people’s quality of life and the wellbeing of the community. At Terreno I develop activities that help more and more people feel safe and self-reliant on a bike, and advocacy for accessible, bike-friendly cities.
AI Facilitator & Funding
Hooked on his e-bike, within the group he stands out for his decidedly questionable music selections.
Customer assistant
I have been an active member since the association was founded and I help those who are getting into cycling: I give details on our upcoming events and on membership.
Volunteer
I help organise our group rides and I create the digital maps that we use for our outreach activities.
Confident cyclist
I support the community and help our teamwork along. I put my DJ and PR talents to work to make Terreno a livelier place.
Manifesto
Terreno Cycling Therapy ETS
Between a person and their bicycle there is never just a road: there are fears, habits, perceptions, skills never acquired, cities designed for someone else. That is where we work — on the human infrastructure of cycling, too often unfairly overlooked by cycling policies.
We know how to listen before speaking, to welcome those starting from scratch or looking for their circle of people, to organise and build what is missing, to weave a network across the area.
We bring care, creativity, flexibility, perseverance and a bit of self-irony, because riding together teaches us that we go further when nobody is left behind. We defend everyone's freedom of movement, with kindness and respect, so that public space becomes the expression of a proud sense of belonging and common ground for civic life.
We dream of authentically building a community that rides at everyone's own pace, and a more modern, more European city.
Every ride is an act of inclusion. Every person who chooses the bicycle is one step further towards a more human, safer mobility — a seed tended and ready to bloom. Let's build the human infrastructure of cycling, together

Group rides across Bari and its metropolitan area, and community rides.

Meet-ups, film forums and training workshops on cycling mobility.

Structured, funded courses tailored to learning and to growing skills and awareness, for adults and children.
For those who never learned to ride, have forgotten how, or just need practice.
The gender gap in cycling is not about talent: it is made of missed chances, streets that feel hostile, and of an «it's not for me» we have heard far too often. Terreno runs supported programmes designed for women, in small groups, with instructors and at everyone's own pace. You start from where you are — even from zero.
This is the self-assessment grid we use: read the levels and pick the one closest to you. It is not an exam — it only helps us build the right group for you.

Support the association's work and be part of the change:
Moving on two wheels in the city is first of all an experience of freedom and independence, as well as a thrifty way of living. That our travel choices have a real impact on the air quality of our cities, and that active mobility brings undisputed health-prevention benefits, are facts. And the bike lets us relive feelings tied to our childhood, and savour a slow relationship with the neighbourhoods we cross, with their glimpses and encounters! It brings us back to a more authentic humanity, out in the open air, full of visual and scented emotions — not filtered through a closed box.

Dear friends, tax return season is here and this year too you can make a big difference without spending a cent: you just have to want to.
🚴 Most of Terreno Cycling Therapy ETS's activities are self-funded: donating your 5x1000 means turning your taxes into kilometres of wellbeing and therapy on two wheels. It's a free but intentional choice: if you give it to us, your signature becomes concrete support for all our projects in schools, for cyclists' safety, for the environment.
👉🏼 How does it work? In your tax return (730 or Redditi), just sign in the “Support for Third Sector Organisations” box and enter our tax code (codice fiscale):
💫 A small gesture for you, vital support for us. Heartfelt thanks for supporting us and pedalling by our side!
